Economical theory in real life
Posted at 21:03.28 and filed under Musings, Singaporei saw 2nd-degree price discrimination being practised yesterday in a very interesting setting..
You know those ice-cream men on bikes? Usually they sell a slice of the ice cream with bread/waffle for 1 dollar.. about an inch in thickness, the slice of ice cream.
Well the man outside indoor stadium last nite after oasis concert, he wasn’t exactly raising up his prices indiscriminately. He was selling for 2 dollars, a 2 inch slab of ice cream, which is kind of ALOT, to put it gently.
When asked, he claims that the blocks are already cut nicely by his supplier, so he can’t do anything about it. And he said this while holding a knife in his hand (duh!)
I din complain, too tired, and the uncle was pretty nice about it.. so i just enjoyed my 2 dollars, 2 inch slab of jagung ice cream in between 2 thin wafers. O yah, did i mention, he gave complimentary pack of tissue paper. cool…
