It’s been a long time that i’ve really enjoyed riding.  I mean, these days it’s more of a transport mode than a hobby.  Yesterday I rediscovered that spark that i’ve been missing for a while.

Had to get to Drama Centre yesterday from school, so was going on the PIE.  Planning to exit @ Stevens Road, and the EMAS flashed “massive traffic jam from Lornie to Kallang”  I took the risk and guessed that i probably have to do about 1km of squeezing between lanes, which was manageable.

Turned out that the jam started immediately after BKE exit, and was SUPER bad.  Usually when i squeeze, my heart would be pounding due to the adrenaline rush.  Yesterday strangely, I was cutting thru lanes very efficiently.  A surgeon’s scalpel couldn’t have done better than me.  Cold efficiency. 

I managed to switch lanes a few times to get into a clear lane, the spaces in btween cars that is.  Man and machine as one, my bike felt like a part of me as i went thru traffic.  In my ears rang Jean Danker’s voice, and the soft wizzing sound as i went past cars.  I knew how much to accelerate and how much room to give for braking.  Nothing fazed me yesterday, not even the minor collision between 2 bikes @ the adjacent lane.


Exited PIE, then the adrenaline rush came.  Heart started pounding.  10km of squeezing later, i emerged in one piece, and a more accomplished rider
